Patrols for hidden illegal items

This afternoon, Littleover and Blagreaves PCSO Murphy and PCSO Supervisor Coleman have conducted patrols in relation to a number of items being found, hidden in the community in jitties and car parks.

Members of the public reported finding several large Nitrous Oxide canisters ( Which are Class C drugs) in various states of use, a bottle of vodka and an old, large kitchen knife on several streets quite close to each other. It is not certain whether these are connected, or purely coincidental. 

It is not known how long the items have been present and hidden in the community but to prevent any risk of harm to the public we have attended and seized these items for destruction. 

We would encourage the public to report anything of this nature to us to attend and remove the items and make enquiries around how they came to be there; in particular around anything that could be used as an offensive weapon; Knives, tools, poles and so on.
